Emory Healthcare is launching an innovation hub for tech startups

Emory Healthcare, Georgia’s largest health system, is expanding to include a center that will nurture new tech start-ups.

The Emory Innovation Hub will partner with up to eight leading tech companies in areas such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing to create an ecosystem of accelerated innovation and business opportunity, says Scott Boden, vice president of business innovation at Emory Healthcare.

The Hub will also feature a matching venture fund for developing and commercializing early stage health technologies.

According to Boden, as the U.S. healthcare system transitions from fee-for-service to value-based care, it is crucial to develop innovative approaches like the Hub that “not only understand the evolving needs of patients and providers but also address those needs in ways that maximize technology to both enable the best possible care and engage patients throughout the entire care journey.”
