Tel Aviv University (TAU) has partnered with business leaders and investors in California’s tech capitals to help international student entrepreneurs launch their own start-ups.

IDEAS Immersion, a collaboration between TAU and American Friends of TAU, gathers a panel of business leaders, angel investors and venture capitalists from Los Angeles and San Francisco to serve as mentors to the student participants and provide them with resources and networks to help them launch their start-ups.

The program is in its third year, and this year’s students hailed from Israel, Turkey, Sweden, South Africa, Georgia and the U.S. The participants attend in-depth workshops, community events, and on-site visits to major California tech companies including Google and Airbnb.

At the end of the program, the students pitch their businesses to the panel for feedback, insights and advice.

“IDEAS Immersion is a one-of-a-kind experience for student innovators poised to become leaders in the evolving digital-technology sphere,” says David Dorfman, founder of the program and vice president of American Friends of TAU Western Region. “As Tel Aviv University continues to grow as a hotbed for tech entrepreneurs, this program is a special opportunity to bring together seasoned and budding talent from around the globe to collaborate and accelerate their ideas.”
