Director of Information Technology at North Central State College


North Central State College is accepting applications for a full-time Director of Information Technology.

Essential duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Operations Management and Support

  • Oversee the management of the College’s network security and disaster recovery operations
  • Manage and maintain vendor and consultant relationships
  • Lead and oversee selection and acquisition of IT hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Collaborate and assist in classroom technology upgrades
  • Provide guidance and recommendation of new technologies and potential application migrations
  • Establish and oversee the maintenance of networking and storage systems, including confidential information
  • Manage software to support institutional policies and procedures
  • Oversee implementation, maintenance, support, and upgrade of purchased vendor-supplied application software systems
  • Oversee supply requirements for administrative systems
  • Serve as the campus liaison to The Ohio State University project manager for the wide-area network ELAN services for the Mansfield campus
  • Serve as point of contact for all ISP (OARnet, Spectrum, etc.) vendors providing internet bandwidth to the College
  • Produce documents/information for Controlling Board requests
  • Participate in all meetings regarding College construction projects that will require any changes or upgrading of the local area network
  • Oversight of contracts, including architects, equipment manufactures, and contractors for IT projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Department Management

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the department’s operations, services, and staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of support services
  • Establish the department’s short and long-term goals and objectives, conferring with the College’s administration and staff
  • Develop long-range planning budgets for capital networking equipment and server upgrades
  • Develop and administer the annual department budget
  • Develop and implement department programs and services as needed and/or desired
  • Manage personnel of the department
  • Other duties as assigned


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field

Experience: Minimum of five years of work experience leading an IT department
