Pivot Bio opens center for sustainable agriculture at Iowa State

Sustainable agriculture company Pivot Bio has opened a new center for production, training and collaboration at Iowa State University (ISU).

The 36,000-square-foot Customer Success Center will support work on Pivot’s agronomy equipment, including its novel PROVEN 40 on-seed product, which allows farmers to plant their seeds with up to 25% of their nitrogen fertilizer needs already in place.

The center will also provide hands-on training and calibration for Pivot’s products and will serve as an education and collaboration hub for farmers, researchers and industry experts.

The Customer Success Center builds on Pivot’s and ISU’s previous partnerships, which include a joint independent research study in 2022 that demonstrated how PROVEN 40 can increase biomass in corn plants.

ISU president Wendy Wintersteen says the center is “a perfect fit for Iowa State’s vibrant innovation ecosystem.”

“The collaborative partnership between Pivot Bio and Iowa State University not only drives economic growth and supports hard-working farmers, but also reinforces Iowa’s central role in shaping a more innovative and sustainable future for agriculture,” Wintersteen says.

“This new center is an embodiment of our collective commitment to reshaping agriculture for the better,” comments Pivot CEO Chris Abbott. “In collaboration with our customers, representatives and strategic partners, we are actively constructing a roadmap toward a future where our united endeavors will not only enhance sustainability and productivity but also place the success of farmers at the forefront of every initiative.”
